Collagraph is one of the most accessible printmaking processes — and wax makes it even more intuitive. Wagner Collagraph Wax was developed to behave like a sculptural surface that prints cleanly and releases easily from paper.
To begin, gently heat the wax until molten (no hotter than 200°F / 93°C). Apply it directly to your plate using a hog hair brush. Once cooled, the wax can be carved, scratched, embossed, or built up in layers.
